my 3-day weekend

the weekend took a rather different turn of events.
first thing, my meeting with merl did not push through last saturday. on one hand, i'm disappointed cause i was really excited already. on the other hand, i'm also glad that it was postponed since i was not as prepared as i wanted to be.
last friday, i was supposed to have the pictures (of gowns) developed so that i could show them to merl. i saved all the jpg files in my thumbdrive and went to the photo shop near our office. turns out that they changed their computer os from win xp to win 98 so a plug-and-play of my thumbdrive wouldn't work. they also didn't have email nor internet access so there was no way i could give them the pics other than if i burn the files onto a cd. there was no cd writer at the office so it was a dead end. i was getting desperate, then i got a call from beth (merl's ever reliable assistant) that our meeting is rescheduled to next saturday. oh well.
so i spent saturday going through more gowns and found some other really beautiful ones. aarrgh!!! i can't make up my mind. it's like i want the embroidery of this, the bodice of that, the train of this, the accent of that, the cut of this, etc etc. who knew that finding the perfect gown design could drive you nuts?!?!
schmuck and i spent sunday at their house in tagaytay. it was the birthday of his sister matet (on the 20th) and ninong dick (on the 19th) so they had a joint celebration.
i brought my wedding files so that we could all look at some of the sketches that merl has done, as well as photos i've downloaded. man, it was a blast! imagine 5 girls and 1 mother-in-law-to-be poring through all the pictures...what a riot!!! as soon as i brought out my files, schmuck went to his room and slept. he said he couldn't stand all the giggling and girlie talk. teehee!
i had some kilig moments when we were in tagaytay last sunday. while we were having lunch, schmuck's dad came over and asked us if we've seen schmuck's room lately. we both said no and asked why. well, they changed the bed. there is now a double bed in schmuck's room. the implication hit me and i couldn't help but blush! oh ok fine, so i didn't quite blush, but i was speechless for a moment. wow.
later in the day, schmuck's mom also showed me the room and THE DOUBLE BED. wow.
she also showed me some children's books that she planned to donate to an orphanage. however, she told me that she may keep a few of the really good ones for our kids (her grandchildren). wow.
i soooo love schmuck's family.
it's my niece Chloe's first birthday today!!! she's having her luau birthday party on saturday, and she's wearing a grass skirt. teehee!
